Sustainable Toys ~ Placenta Teddy Bear

Not so sure what to do with the leftovers? Designer Alex Green is here to save the day with the "Twin Teddy Bear Kit". Blech.

File this in the "NUH UH" category. I'm all for recycling but when it comes to placenta? I'm not so interested in seeing it EVER. I certainly don't want to be drying it and salting it and conditioning it, and sewing it into a nasty little teddy bear.

Apparently this is an alternative to eating your placenta. Not sure how to cook your placenta? HERE are a few recipes. If you are like me and don't cook, just make it into a pill HERE.

Yuck-O-Rama.

I just saw that photo somewhere else this week too. I just have no words. I believe in the health benefits involved in eating ones placenta, but not sure I could do it myself. That bear, well, just freaks me out.

I've heard about the eating placenta and the pill version. That doesn't phase me anymore.

But d00d, making likenesses of children's toys is a new one.

    WTF?

When I read the title, I thought, I read that wrong. That's not what I think it says...

You know, I was looking at the picture first on my feed reader and thought, thats sorta cute.
    Then I read the entry.
Now, I think there are some really and I mean REALLY sicko people out there that would come up with such a thing.
    Damn~

I'm totally grossed out. Please, can't people find more appealing and beneficial things to make? What's this obsession with the placenta?

Human placenta? I've seen (and had to dispose of) many a cow/calf placenta but this is downright creepy... and I would also think it's a bio-hazard at least for the "artist."

Back in my day when we were birthing babies, the placenta was some icky thing we didn't even have to think about -- after we walked 10 miles uphill both ways in the snow to the hospital, of course.

Ok, this is sick. I did get a placenta tour which I found amazing but after that, I had no need to keep it around. And I'm sorry, eating it is not an option. What will they think of next.

Why do they have to ruin the teddybear?!?!

So, lil boo, which teddybear do you want to sleep with tonight? YogiBear, FozzyBear, or PlacentaBear?!?!

    Just wrong....

    Cheers!
