Traveling With(OUT) Children!!

I'm sitting here in San Francisco in my Brother and Sister in-laws' adorable and totally NOT kid friendly home.  The windows are open and the breeze is heavenly.  The air is so moist here compared to Denver.  My hair will be frizzing within the hour but I think I'll just grab an iced tea up the street and let it be.  Just let it be.

You see, I rode on an airplane last night.  All by myself, well my husband was with me but he didn't require 50 potty breaks, a lollipop, a wet-wipe, another snack, or pull my hair and kick me because I was snoozing.  He was so well behaved, I barely knew he was there.

When the plane arrived I looked around and there were no crumbs and no children fighting and crying.  I wasn't quite sure what to do with myself.  No carseat to wrestle, no bags of toys to reassemble, no nothing.  Just me and my little bag and my husband, who was so well behaved.

This is traveling without children.  It has been 9 years since I've travelled without a child.  This is quite nice.  I might be able to do this again with John, because he is so well behaved.

Aren't other peoples kids even more annoying when you do not have yours with you??

I have no pity for bad kids at restaurants. Please take them home

Traveling without children, with your spouse, can be ADDICTIVE! You'll want to do it at least once or twice a year!

woo hoo! enjoy every minute. These kind of vacations are good for every marriage and family. I'm going on my first w/husband in two years in a couple of weeks. Teenagers need escaping from too, for different reasons :)

wow I can totally relate to this post. 3 kids, millions of lollies and thousands of crayons with paper later, I have yet to get a trip anywhere by myself (including the potty) lol. Congrats!

I don't have children, but I do have 2 cats. The last time I went away overnight I brought them with me. My older cat, Briege, knocked over a bowl of M&Ms and was eating out of a bowl of chicken salad on the kitchen table when we found her.

    I'm thinking I won't be invited back.~Mary

That is utterly hilarious, Fiona. I can't wait to read what it is like to have an actual meal with your husband...on a table that you cannot draw on...and drink a real glass of wine.

Dream big! And have a fantastic time in SF.

I hope your husband has to come out again so that you can come with him again....alone! And I mean no disrespect to your truly precious children.
